About Amy

Amy English is a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor at Let’sTalk! Counseling. She holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern State University, graduating in 2010. Amy is also an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider, bringing specialized expertise to her work. With a passion for supporting children and adolescents, Amy’s journey in the field has been marked by her commitment to making a positive impact on young lives.

Amy’s professional journey began in the Coppell ISD district, where she worked extensively with children diagnosed with “emotional disturbance” and those on the autism spectrum. Her expertise encompasses managing ARDs, creating 504 accommodations, and implementing Applied Behavior Analysis. She excels in handling children dealing with anger and aggression (both physical and emotional) and specializes in fostering conflict resolution skills.

Having spent 9 years in private practice, Amy has honed her skills in addressing a range of challenges faced by children and adolescents, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and conflict resolution. She takes an eclectic approach, drawing from various theoretical orientations such as play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

For Amy, building rapport, trust, and a sense of comfort is paramount in a clinical setting. She believes that a strong therapeutic alliance lays the foundation for meaningful progress. Her dedication has been recognized by the community, as she was voted DFW Child Mom Approved for both 2022 and 2023.

In 2023, Amy achieved her LPC-Supervisor (LPC-S) designation, reflecting her commitment to mentoring and guiding new counselors in their journey. She is also expanding her practice to accept LPC-Associates, reflecting her dedication to the growth of the counseling profession.
