About Joanna McFarling
Joanna McFarling is a compassionate Play Therapist at Let’sTalk! Counseling with a strong foundation in both education and counseling. She earned her Master’s in School Counseling from the University of North Texas, where she trained in play therapy, child development, and working with diverse populations.
Joanna’s interest in counseling began during her internships at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. With experience as an elementary school counselor and a former 3rd grade teacher, she has worked closely with children facing various challenges. Joanna practices Child-Centered Play Therapy and Adlerian principles, creating a safe, empathetic space for her clients.
Currently an LPC-Associate and pursuing her Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential, Joanna is dedicated to helping children and families navigate life’s challenges. Her client-centered approach fosters growth, healing, and self-acceptance. Outside of work, Joanna enjoys the outdoors and spending quality time with her family.
