About Nishita

A fellow traveler on your healing path

Nishita Raut is a compassionate LPC-Associate at Let’sTalk! Counseling, currently completing her doctoral studies in Counseling at the University of North Texas. She earned her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Auburn University in 2019 and brings a deep passion for advocacy, multicultural care, and social justice to her work.

Nishita’s journey in mental health began in California, where she worked with unhoused individuals at a nonprofit organization. After returning to her home country due to visa challenges, she opened her private practice and soon recognized a strong need for quality mental health care and professional training. This realization inspired her return to the U.S. to pursue advanced education and support the next generation of counselors.

“Nishita sees herself as a fellow traveler on each client’s unique path toward healing.”

Over the years, Nishita has worked across a wide range of clinical settings, including hospitals, university clinics, nonprofits, schools, and private practice. She has supported clients across the lifespan—from children and teens to adults and older adults. Nishita specializes in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) for ages 4 to 9 and incorporates expressive arts and dreamwork in her practice to foster creative and emotional expression.

Grounded in existential philosophy, Nishita sees herself as a fellow traveler on each client’s unique path toward healing. She believes in helping people reflect on their life experiences, discover their true selves, and create deeper meaning and connection. Her calm presence, empathy, and thoughtful approach provide a safe space for clients to explore, grow, and thrive.

Nishita is supervised by David Huffman, LPC-S.
