About Sam

Sam Walker LPC Let'sTalk! Counseling

Sam Walker (She/Her) is a devoted Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate at Let’sTalk! Counseling. She earned her BA in Psychology, with a minor in French Language, from University of Texas at Arlington, and went on to complete her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Amberton University. She has worked with children, teens, parents, and families in a wide variety of settings and brings a breadth of experience to her counseling approach.  She has experience working in outpatient, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization levels of care in individual, family, and group therapy settings.

Her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each client or family. She has a deep commitment to LGBTQI+ and multicultural affirming therapy. She brings a unique social collectivist perspective to her counseling approach and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), play therapy, and narrative techniques within a trauma-informed framework. This allows her to support clients with both evidence-based tools and deeply personal, story-centered healing work in order to honor their past while helping them move toward a more hopeful future.

Sam believes that therapy isn’t just about addressing what causes pain, it’s also about rediscovering what brings meaning, connection, and joy. She works with clients not only to heal and navigate life’s difficulties, but also to reconnect with their strengths, values, and sense of purpose, and support both emotional resilience and everyday fulfillment.

Sam works with children, adolescents and teens to build emotional awareness, develop coping skills, and strengthen their communication and confidence in navigating school, relationships and identity. Her work with families is centered on fostering healthier dynamics, encouraging connection, and supporting parents as they navigate their own challenges alongside their children’s growth.

Sam is also particularly passionate about supporting maternal mental health and helping couples and families manage the emotional transitions of prenatal and perinatal stages, postpartum-specific needs, and parenthood. As a certified childbirth educator, she understands the complex intersection of identity, mental health, and caregiving, and works to create a safe, validating space for mothers and caregivers at every stage.

Specializations include:

  • Anxiety & Stress Management
  • Depression & Mood Disorders
  • Relationship & Family Dynamics

  • Grief/Loss & Existential/Spiritual Issues
  • Coping with Trauma & PTSD

In her free time, Sam is an avid reader who enjoys being outdoors, traveling, painting, swimming, and exploring the world of film, television and art, as well as cherishing quality moments with her husband and two daughters. Sam’s warm and empathetic nature, combined with her academic achievements and commitment to growth, make her a valuable asset to the Let’sTalk! Counseling team.

Whether you’re seeking support through a difficult season or hoping to build a life with more clarity, joy, and connection, Sam is here to walk alongside you with empathy and evidence-based care.
